When you are buying equipment for soccer you should always start to shop about two months before the season starts so the stores don't run out of any equipment. If you are playing in a league you should check and see the color rules and how much or little of your legs you have to have covered with protective gear.

If you're not sure about something such as the size or the type, bring in your old gear to compare the new gear to or to have a salesperson help you to identify the old gear. Shop in the right sections, there is either adult or youth. You don't need to worry about the sex of the clothing in the youth size as there is no difference between girls and boys clothing. In the adult sizes, you should look and check for the men's or women's clothing as they do have a difference between the sexes.

You should check the labels before you buy the clothing and make sure that it is easy to care for, soccer clothing is made out of many different materials and sometimes you have to special wash some of it. You should try on the cleats, shin guards, and socks before you buy them to make sure they are comfortable and fit well.

If you find a brand that you like you should stick with that brand, you already know it works so why try and find another brand. Ask for help from the salespeople, if they don't know just go somewhere else and ask or check. Remember to always try things on before buying them. If you find out that the cleats hurt your feet while your already on the field, its probably a little too late to take them back now.
